I don’t want to post quotes unless I can find the “real” source. If it’s from a book, I’ll have a look until I find the page it’s from and will compare the text I’m about to reblog to the text printed. If it’s from an interview, I’ll look for a transcript, recording, or official article. I come across loads of misquoted or incomplete (i.e., no context) quotes on Tumblr and it really annoys me. That said, if you have a good quote, send me the link and I’ll be more than glad to post it. But you’re right, there should definitely be more quotes posted, I’m sorry. And I would advise anyone interested in his opinion on religion and atheism to listen to the brilliant Blasphemy Debate and Intelligence² Debate.

Hello! I'm a big fan of your blog. I did have a question though. Mr. Fry has said some really remarkable things about religion and the validity of atheism. He has a beautifully critical mind and is wonderfully eloquent with his critiques. Is there a reason quotes from him on atheism and religion don't get posted? If you would like submissions, I would be glad to help with that.
Thanks,
Helen

Now, it’s such a bizarrely improbable thing that anything so mindbogglingly useful could have evolved in the universe purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as the final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. The argument goes something like this:
“I refuse to prove that I exist,” says God, “for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.”
“But,” says Man, “The Babel fish is a dead giveaway. It proves you do exist, and so therefore, you don’t. QED.”
“Oh dear,” says God, “I hadn’t thought of that,” and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.
